A.O. GIMMESTAD (se Nordfjordlagets Aarbok for 1935 og 1936, og desuten avsnittet om Nordfjordlagets embedsmænd, skrevet av Ole I. Steen), f. den 5te aug. 1865, gift med Anne Malene Hegdal (det første nulevende Nordfjord-barn, født i Swedes Forest 14de dec. 1870) den 15de juni 1892. Hun bor i et statelig hjem i Belview. Oscar er deres ældste søn. Han graduerte ved Gale Coll., Galesville, Wis., i 1914, tjente i verdenskrigen, var justice of the peace i mange aar, assist. kasserer i sin fars bank i 20 aar. Gift med Caroline Miller den 21de juni 1921. De har en søn, Richard, og datteren Anette Kathleen. Ella Bertine, grad. Luth. Ladies’ Sem. i Red Wing, Winona Normal School og “Presb. Hosp. and School for Nurses” i Chicago. Hun har tjent som sykepleierske og er nu “Superintendent of Red Cross Nurses in Southern U.S.A.” med hovedkvarter i St. Louis, Mo. — Bertha Adella, grad. Ladies’ Sem. i Red Wing, Stout Inst. i Menomonie, Wis., og Minn. statsuniversitet. Har virket som lærerinde i flere aar. Gift med Elmer Swanson den 19de nov. 1924. Deres søn Robert var født i 1925, datteren Barbara Ann i 1926. De bor nu i Wanamingo, Minn. Bernard Arthur, gik paa skole i Belview, ved St. Olaf Coll. og ved statsuniversitetet. Præs. St. Olaf Concert Band, skolesuperintendent i flere byer fra 1920, sidst i Dawson, Minn. Soldat. Gift med agnes Omtvedt den 21de juni 1922. Deres barn er: Patricia Ann, Dorothy Jeane, Nancy Corinne. — Alfred Oliver døde som spædbarn i 1901. Alfred Melvin, grad. St. Olaf Coll., assistant cashier i sin fars bank i 6 aar, medlem av bystyre og fører nu tilsyn med familiens mange farme. — Evelyn Mildred frekventerte St. Olaf Coll. i 2 aar, fuldente to kursus ve universitetet; gift med Roy Lundblad den 11te aug. 1905. De har 2 barn, Rodger Roy og Karen Maline, nu 8 og 5 aar gamle. William Cornelius, gid et aar paa skole i Northfield, senere læste han forretningsfag ved universitetet. Gift med Gladys Bakke fra Madelia, Minn. Agnes Henriette tilbragte et aarstid ved St. Olaf Coll., studerte derpaa ved statsuniversitetet, og er nu clerk of cout i Redwood Falls. Walter Anders, grad of St. Olaf Coll., har tilbragt litt tid ved statsuniversitetet og har virket som lærer i Barrett og Watertown, Minn.

He married Anne Malene Hegdal (the first now living Nordfjord who was born in Swede’s Forest December 14, 1870) on June 15, 1892. She lives in a state home in Belview. Oscar is there oldest son. He graduated from Gale College, Galesville, Wisconsin in 1914. He served in World War I, and was a Justice of the Peace for many years. He was assistant treasurer at his father’s bank for 20 years. Oscar married Caroline Miller June 21, 1921. They had a son, Richard, and a daughter Anette Kathleen. Ella Bertine, was a graduate of Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary in Redwing, Minnesota, Winona Normal School, Winona, Minnesota, and the Prespyterian Hospital and School for Nurses in Chicago, Illinois. She has served as a nurse and is now “Superintendent of Red Cross Nurses in Southern U.S.A.” headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. — Bertha Adella, graduated from Lutheran Ladies’ Seminary, in Redwing Minnesota, Stout Institute in Menomonie, Wisconsin, and Minnesota State University. She has worked as a teacher for several years. She married Elmer Swanson November 19, 1924. Their son Robert was born in 1925, their daughter Barbara Ann in 1926. They now reside in Wanamingo, Minnesota. — Bernard Arthur,  went to school at Belview, at St. Olaf College, and at the State University. He served as President of the St. Olaf Concert Band, as a school superintendent in many towns from 1920, lastly at Dawson, Minnesota. He was a soldier. He married Agnes Omtvedt the 21st [page 214] of June 1922. Their children are: Patricia Ann, Dorothy Jeane, and Nancy Corinne. — Alfred Oliver died in infancy in 1901. Alfred Melvin, graduate of St. Olaf College, assistant cashier at his father’s bank for 6 years, a member of the city council, and now oversees his family’s many farms. — Evelyn Mildred attended St. Olaf College for 2 years, completed two courses at the University; and married Roy undblad August 11, 1905. They have two children: Rodger Roy and Karen Maline, now 8 and 5 years old. William Conrelius, went to school for a year in Northfield, Minnesota, later studying business at the State University. He married Gladys Bakke from Madelia, Minnesota. Agnes Henriette, spent a year at St. Olaf College, after which she studied at the State University, and is now Court Clerk in Redwood Falls. Walter Anders, graduated from St. Olaf College, has spent some time at the State University and has worked as a teacher in Barrett and Watertown, Minnesota.


MRS. KOLBEN GRANE (Elisabet S. Stokke), f. i Breim i 1880, kom til Belview i 1900, gift med Grane i 1908. Deres ældste søn, Arthur, gift med Alida Viergutz. De har en datter. Arthurs børdre er Lawrence og Walter. Deres søster Evylyn har frekventert Augustana Coll. Hun er lærerinde. 

MRS. KOLBEN GRANE (Elisabet S. Stokke) was born in Breim in 1880, came to Belview in 1900, married Grane 1908. Their oldest son, Arthur, married Alida Viergutz. They have one daughter. Arthur’s brothers are Lawrence and Walter. Their sister Evylyn has attended Augustana College. She is a teacher.

J.B. Johnson Haugen, O.P.J. Haugens søn, har bodd i Benson siden 1888. Gift med Martha Brogren 28de juni 1905. Har 2 døtre , Eunice, 28 aar gl., Muriel (Mrs. Kerney), 22. — J.B. Johnsons far er fra Aarheim i Stryn og kom til Bricelyn med sin forældre i 1869. Ben O. Johnson, søn til O.P.J. Haugen, assistant postmester i Benson, gift med Ethel S. Troy 12te juni 1925. De har 2 barn. — K.A. Bø fra Stryn bosatte sig i Chippewa co. i 1867. (Oplysnigner om J.B. Johnson hører nærmest hjemme under Benson.)

J.B. JOHNSON HAUGEN, O.P.J Haugens son, has lived in Benson since 1888. He married Martha Brogren June 28, 1905. They have 2 daughters: Eunice, 28 years old; and Muriel (Mrs. Kerney), 22. — J.B.Johnson’s father is from Aarheim in Styrn and came to Bricelyn with his parents in 1869. Ben O. Johnson, son of O.P.J. Haugen, was assistant postmaster in Benson, married Ethel S. Troy June 12, 1925. They have 2 children. — K.A. Bø [Boe] from Styrn settled in Chippewa County in 1867. (Information about J.B.
