The Term “Office” in English Bibles

Recently a pastor of the ELS has made the claim:

“If I may ask, please do me a favor — rewrite this for me without using the term “office,” which is not a Scriptural term.”

This is from elsministry post 3726.

I’m not sure which translation he has in hand, but the following is meant as an aid for clarification.
